❌ Test failure

@CyberTimon: this pull request adds the AppImage from your GitHub repository to the AppImage catalog; the test reports the following. Could you have a look?

  • The latest release has several AppImages for x86_64, and it is not clear which one to test (they are listed in the log). Put the direct download URL of the AppImage into the file in data/ instead of the repository URL, or publish only one x86_64 AppImage per release.

First error in the log:

ERROR: Release v1.6.6 has several AppImages, and it is not clear which one to test:
  03_RapidRAW_v1.6.6_ubuntu-22.04_amd64.AppImage
  03_RapidRAW_v1.6.6_ubuntu-24.04_amd64.AppImage
  03_tethering_RapidRAW_v1.6.6_ubuntu-22.04_amd64.AppImage
  03_tethering_RapidRAW_v1.6.6_ubuntu-24.04_amd64.AppImage
Unable to decide which AppImage of the release to test. Please link to the AppImage directly

What next: once the AppImage is fixed (e.g. in a new release), comment /retest here to test it again. If it should not be in the catalog after all, close this pull request; an app that is already in the catalog can be removed by a maintainer with /remove.

#03_RapidRAW*ubuntu-24.04 picks 03_RapidRAW_v1.6.6_ubuntu-24.04_amd64.AppImage
but not the 03_tethering_RapidRAW build of the same release (#10502): with a
wildcard the pattern may match anywhere in the tag or file name; without one
the whole-word matching of #nightly and the like is unchanged. worker.sh and
check-entry.sh let * and ? through to find-appimage.sh.

Thank you, @AsciiWolf, and @CyberTimon for the application. The test stopped because the latest release (v1.6.6) has four x86_64 AppImages, and the repository link alone cannot say which one to test: 03_RapidRAW_… and 03_tethering_RapidRAW_…, each for Ubuntu 22.04 and 24.04.

The part after a # at the end of the link in data/ can pick one of them. Its pattern may now contain * (any characters) and ? (one character) and matches anywhere in the file name; this is in #10503 and works once that is merged. Using the 22.04 builds, the two applications would be two entries, one file each in data/:

https://github.com/CyberTimon/RapidRAW#03_RapidRAW*ubuntu-22.04

picks 03_RapidRAW_v1.6.6_ubuntu-22.04_amd64.AppImage, and

https://github.com/CyberTimon/RapidRAW#03_tethering*ubuntu-22.04

picks 03_tethering_RapidRAW_v1.6.6_ubuntu-22.04_amd64.AppImage (a name for the second file such as RapidRAW_Tethering). I checked both patterns against the four file names of the log: each selects exactly one AppImage, and since they contain no version number, they keep working for new releases. Please open a new pull request with each file; the 22.04 builds also run on newer systems, which is what the catalog prefers.

Alternatively, publishing only one x86_64 AppImage per application in a release would make the plain repository link work without a # part.

But why encode Ubuntu versions and why have 2 versions in the first place? That smells like suboptimal AppImage packaging to me.

✅ Test passed

Please check that the screenshot shows the application's main window.

RapidRAW

RapidRAW

Tested:

Compatibility: not self-contained: uses the C library of the system; references glibc 2.35

Warnings:

  • The window is mostly dark, so the application seems to start in a dark theme although the test system is not set to dark mode. Please use a light mode by default and use the dark theme only when the system is configured for dark mode (e.g. the GTK/Qt or theme setting) or the user chooses it in the settings.
  • The AppImage contains no update information, so users cannot update it with AppImageUpdate or similar tools. Please consider embedding it when building the AppImage (e.g., appimagetool -u) and publishing the .zsync file next to the AppImage; see https://docs.appimage.org/packaging-guide/optional/updates.html
