Official documentation repository for ZeroDeNet projects, covering user guides, deployment instructions, configuration references, interface contracts, and contribution documentation.
- Production: https://docs.zerodenet.org
- Development preview: https://zerodenet.github.io/docs/
The production site is published from main, while the development preview is published from develop.
| Project | Description | Repository |
|---|---|---|
| Zero Core | Documentation for the ZeroDeNet network runtime, protocols, control interfaces, and deployment. | zerodenet/core |
| ZNet Sink | Usage, configuration, and platform compatibility documentation for the ZeroDeNet desktop proxy client. | zerodenet/znet-sink |
| Zboard | Installation, basic panel management, and plugin extension documentation. | zerodenet/zboard |
Each project has its own navigation, page hierarchy, and documentation boundaries so that versions, configuration semantics, and usage guidance remain project-specific.
This repository primarily contains public documentation for users, operators, and integration developers, including:
- project introductions and capability overviews;
- installation, deployment, and initialization guides;
- configuration options and environment variables;
- node, protocol, and feature usage guides;
- public API, Webhook, gRPC, and related interface contracts;
- troubleshooting and common problems;
- compatibility, upgrade, and migration guidance;
- public contribution and collaboration guidance.
Internal design notes, temporary investigations, development plans, test records, and unstable implementation proposals should remain in the relevant project repositories.
Each project's documentation lives in its own directory:
docs/
└── projects/
├── core/
├── znet-sink/
└── zboard/
Project registration metadata is maintained in:
docs/.vitepress/projects.json
Navigation and sidebar configuration are maintained in:
docs/.vitepress/navigation.ts
When adding a page, make sure that:
- the page is placed under the correct project directory;
- the page title and navigation label are clear;
- local links resolve correctly;
- the page is not inserted into another project's reading sequence;
- version and compatibility notes belong to the relevant project;
- code-related problems are routed to the corresponding code repository.
For incorrect or missing documentation, broken links, or unclear wording, open an Issue in this repository.
For application behavior, runtime errors, feature requests, or security issues, use the corresponding project repository:
main is the stable/default branch and develop is the integration and preview branch. The repository keeps a linear history: main is always equal to, or an ancestor of, develop.

main ── production documentation
develop: receives reviewed documentation changes and publishes the development preview;main: points to the latest released commit and publishes the production documentation;- feature branches: contain changes for a specific project, topic, or documentation batch.
Normal changes should go through a Pull Request into develop. After the preview is accepted, open a develop -> main release PR to review the exact production diff. Do not merge that release PR with GitHub's merge buttons. A repository maintainer or administrator applies the release:promote label to the release PR instead. Labels added by users with lower repository roles are rejected by the promotion workflow.
The promotion workflow waits for the required validate and release-policy checks, rebuilds the exact develop commit, verifies that main is still an ancestor of develop, and then fast-forwards main. It aborts if the release PR is a draft, the source or target branch is wrong, the label was added by someone without Maintain/Admin access, a required check fails, develop changes during validation, or the branch relationship is no longer safe.
After the fast-forward, the workflow explicitly dispatches the Cloudflare Pages deployment on main: pushes made with GITHUB_TOKEN do not trigger other push workflows. Promotion success means deployment was requested; verify the production deployment and docs.zerodenet.org before treating the release as published. If main advanced but deployment failed to start or finish, manually run Deploy to Cloudflare Pages on main instead of retrying the promotion.
If a promotion fails, fix the reported condition, remove the release:promote label, and have an authorized maintainer or administrator add it again to retry.
Requirements:
- Node.js 22 or later;
- pnpm;
- Corepack.
Enable Corepack and install dependencies:
corepack enable
pnpm installStart the local development server:
pnpm devDefault address:
http://localhost:5173
Run the basic documentation checks:
pnpm checkRun the complete build validation:
pnpm check:buildThe checks cover:
- project registration metadata;
- project landing pages;
- Markdown headings;
- UTF-8 encoding;
- local links;
- project navigation and sidebars;
- cross-project link boundaries;
- the VitePress production build;
- generated build artifacts.
Before submitting changes, run at least:
pnpm check:buildUse the project scaffold to create the initial registration metadata and landing page:
pnpm create:project -- \
--id example \
--name "Example" \
--description "Project description" \
--repository "https://github.com/zerodenet/example"After running the scaffold:
- Add the project introduction and usage documentation.
- Add navigation and sidebar entries in
docs/.vitepress/navigation.ts. - Review the reading order between project pages.
- Run
pnpm check:build. - Commit the changes to a feature branch and merge them into
developfor preview.

ZBoard documentation is maintained in docs/projects/zboard/, including installation, plugin usage and technical references. The product repository retains only entry-point READMEs and build-owned release notes. Development history is excluded from the public site. See zboard-document-migration.json for migration provenance.
