Summary
Impact
This provides early compatibility feedback without allowing nightly runtime regressions to block the stable PHP test suite.
Validation
PHP 8.6 installs and executes the full test suite. The workflow currently fails because the same pre-existing sentence-splitting assertion fails on every matrix entry from PHP 5.4 through PHP 8.6; this PR does not change application or test code.
