What changed

  • Recognize single-letter dotted initials case-insensitively while retaining the existing short-capitalized-abbreviation rule.
  • Add regressions for a.m., A.M., and sentence boundaries following a doubled terminal period.

Why

The parser currently protects A. as an abbreviation fragment but not lowercase a. or m.. That causes times such as 7 a.m. to split between the initials and produces incorrect boundaries when an abbreviation occurs at the end of a sentence.

Dependency

This is a stacked draft based on PR #30 so the tests run on the modernized matrix. The temporary pull-request workflow applies the exact source/test patch and removes itself.

Closes #13.
Closes #25.
