Style review

This release note is clear and has the right structure. The frontmatter category and components values follow release-notes/_README.md, all three internal links point to pages that exist, and the external Apache Ossie link loads. Here are a few style points to fix.

1. Temporal words ("now", "until now", "for now")

Autogenerated data models can now be created from Snowplow Assistant…
Until now, autogenerated data models were created in Console or through the API. You can now list…
Semantic model generation is available only this way for now.

Rule: style guide, Writing style: "Stay in the present tense. Never use 'currently', 'now', 'in the future'…"

Fix: the date already shows that this is new, so you can drop these words. For example:

  • "You can create autogenerated data models from Snowplow Assistant and the Snowplow MCP server, and generate a semantic model for each one's table."
  • "Previously, you could create autogenerated data models only in Console or through the API. You can also list, inspect, and create them from Snowplow Assistant…"
  • See point 3 for the "for now" sentence.

2. Passive voice

Autogenerated data models can now be created from Snowplow Assistant…
It's composed from the tracking plan and the stored model configuration.

Rule: CLAUDE.md, Writing style: "Use active voice."

Fix: "Snowplow builds it from the tracking plan and the stored model configuration." The opening-sentence rewrite in point 1 also makes that sentence active.

3. Vague sentence

Semantic model generation is available only this way for now.

Rule: style guide, Writing style (no "now"). "This way" also doesn't say clearly what it refers to.

Fix: "You can generate semantic models only through Snowplow Assistant or the MCP server."

4. Headings aren't imperative

Semantic model generation

Available through Snowplow Assistant and the MCP server

Rule: CLAUDE.md, Headings and organization: "Prefer imperative voice."

Fix: "## Generate a semantic model for a data model" and "## Create data models from Snowplow Assistant or the MCP server".

5. Minor points

  • The title "Semantic models for autogenerated data models, through Snowplow Assistant and the MCP server" is long and reads awkwardly because of the comma. Consider "Generate semantic models for autogenerated data models" or "Semantic models and AI-assisted creation for autogenerated data models".
  • "Convert it to the format your AI agent or BI tool reads with the converters in the Apache Ossie repository, for example Snowflake semantic views…" is ambiguous: it can be read as saying the BI tool reads with the converters. Consider: "To convert it to the format your AI agent or BI tool reads, use the converters in the Apache Ossie repository. Targets include Snowflake semantic views, Databricks metric views, Cube, and Omni."
  • The PR title has a typo ("relase"), and the PR description is empty.

It's the correct language for the release notes

- "Data models"
- "AI tools"
---
Autogenerated data models can now be created from Snowplow Assistant and the Snowplow MCP server, and each one can produce a semantic model of its table.

we could simplify how we communicate the business problem it solves, maybe by using something like this:

Create Snowplow data models from Snowplow Assistant or any MCP client, and automatically give each table a semantic model so AI agents understand what your data means.
Ask Snowplow Assistant or any MCP client to build your data model, and get a semantic model with it, so AI and BI tools can read and query your data correctly.

WDYT?
