🚀 Hiero Workflow Automation Hub

Comprehensive workflow automation tool for analyzing and managing Hiero ecosystem repositories.

🎯 Purpose

Built for the LFX Mentorship 2026 program as part of the Hiero GitHub Workflow App project.

This tool addresses common maintainer challenges in managing large-scale open source projects by automating:

  • Stale issue detection and categorization
  • Contributor qualification validation
  • Pull request health monitoring
  • Developer progression tracking

1. 📊 Stale Issue Analysis

  • Identifies issues with no activity in 30+ days
  • Categorizes by severity (Critical: 90+, Attention: 60-90, Watch: 30-60 days)
  • Helps prioritize cleanup efforts
  • Reduces maintainer cognitive load

2. 👤 Contributor Validation

  • Validates contributor qualifications before issue assignment
  • Checks account age and contribution history
  • Ensures compliance with project requirements
  • Reduces inappropriate issue assignments

3. 🔄 PR Health Monitoring

  • Tracks pull request age and status
  • Identifies stuck PRs needing attention
  • Highlights draft vs. ready-to-review PRs
  • Calculates average PR age metrics

4. 📈 Developer Progression Tracking

  • Analyzes contributor levels (New, Junior, Regular, Advanced)
  • Recommends appropriate next issues

📋 Prerequisites

  • Node.js v16 or higher
  • npm or yarn
  • GitHub Personal Access Token
  • GitHub account

🚀 Installation

1. Clone the repository

git clone https://github.com/YOUR_USERNAME/hiero-workflow-hub.git
cd hiero-workflow-hub

2. Install dependencies

npm install

3. Configure environment

cp .env.example .env

4. Add your GitHub token to .env

GITHUB_TOKEN=your_token_here

Get your token:

  1. Go to https://github.com/settings/tokens
  2. Click "Generate new token (classic)"
  3. Select scopes: repo, read:org, read:user
  4. Copy token and paste in .env

💻 Usage

Run the demo

npm start

Run individual analyses

Edit src/index.js to customize which analyses to run:

// Example: Run only stale issue analysis
await runStaleIssueAnalysis();
