SCP-7510 (?)
SCP-7510 refers to the containment procedures for an area that was once a small town in Manitoba, now surrounded by a ten-meter-high concrete wall. The anomalous effect is that there is "nothing within the walled area," but if personnel believe they hear voices or see entities, they must be given amnesia. The containment involves "smiling fools" who have forgotten their names, reciting secret words to make "fruits wither" and stop "wretched singing," which prevents hostile entities from emerging and the walled area from expanding. If a "flower blooms" instead, it means the singing continues, and the Foundation must use fire weapons against whatever comes out. The underlying threat is described allegorically as a parasitic, inverted tree that grew from the "damned" and answers prayers, causing "flowers" and "fruits" to appear.
S.M. (patient) (?)
The article describes S.M., an American woman who, due to a rare genetic condition called Urbach–Wiethe disease, has complete bilateral destruction of her amygdala, the part of the brain crucial for processing fear. As a result, S.M. is physiologically unable to experience psychological fear, even in life-threatening situations like being held at knifepoint, though she can experience panic from suffocation. Her condition has made her a subject of extensive scientific study, revealing insights into the amygdala's role in fear, social cognition, and emotional memory, and she is noted for being exceptionally outgoing, friendly, and having difficulty recognizing negative social cues or assessing danger.
