Migrate tests to Cypress v15

Dismiss toured guide banner on every login. Use pooling-based solution
matching the pattern used in networking-console-plugin.

Based on the fix for 4.19 branch #391

  1. replace copy-webpack-plugin with webpack 5's built-in output.copy
  2. bump major versions of test deps: cypress to v15 and mocha to v12
  3. remove version overrides except needed for resolving shared modules
  4. use self-reference syntax for version overrides that are linked to
    direct dependencies

CVE in js-yaml by updating to v3.15.2, v4.3.2, v5.4.2.
CVE-2026-84375 https://redhat.atlassian.net/browse/OCPBUGS-115459

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • Tests
    • Automated browser checks now support OAuth login flows and verify that sign-in completes before continuing.
    • Welcome-tour dismissal is handled when the tour appears, while tests can continue if it does not.
    • Logout checks now account for cases where the user menu is unavailable.
  • Chores
    • Updated internal build configuration for locale asset copying.

Walkthrough

The pull request updates Cypress authentication commands and welcome-tour handling. It changes package versions and replaces Webpack’s locale copy plugin with an output copy rule.

Changes

Cypress authentication commands

Layer / File(s) Summary
Welcome-tour dismissal
cypress/support/commands.ts
The commands poll for the welcome-tour dismiss control and click it when available. The authentication-disabled login path also checks for the tour.
OAuth login and logout
cypress/support/commands.ts
Login uses cy.origin and waits for the console URL and a logged-in UI element. Logout visits / and clicks the logout item only when the user dropdown is present.

Build configuration and dependencies

Layer / File(s) Summary
Locale copying and tool versions
package.json, webpack.config.ts
The package manifest pins Cypress, Webpack, and Mocha versions, removes package overrides, and removes copy-webpack-plugin. Webpack copies locales through output.copy.

Wait for either supported user-dropdown selector.

login accepts [data-test="user-dropdown-toggle"] or #page-sidebar as a logged-in readiness marker, but logout checks only [data-test="user-dropdown"] in a one-time body snapshot. If the accepted UI state lacks that selector when the check runs, logout returns without clicking the menu. Wait for either menu selector and restore the existing visible-login assertion after logout.

🐛 Suggested fix
-    cy.get('body').then(($body) => {
-      if ($body.find('[data-test="user-dropdown"]').length === 0) {
-        cy.log('logout skipped: user menu not present');
-        return;
-      }
-      cy.get('[data-test="user-dropdown"]').click();
-      cy.get('[data-test="log-out"]').should('be.visible');
-      cy.get('[data-test="log-out"]').click({ force: true });
-    });
+    cy.get(
+      '[data-test="user-dropdown"], [data-test="user-dropdown-toggle"]',
+      { timeout: MINUTE },
+    )
+      .filter(':visible')
+      .first()
+      .click();
+    cy.get('[data-test="log-out"]').should('be.visible');
+    cy.get('[data-test="log-out"]').click({ force: true });
+    cy.byLegacyTestID('login').should('be.visible');
