Non-Git repairs could silently omit changed symlinks and Unix files whose names contain literal backslashes from their patch records. Keep symlinks in the snapshot inventory and normalize separators only on Windows; the existing fingerprint code records link targets without following them.
Two regression cases failed before the fix and now pass. Coverage includes link creation, retargeting, deletion, and unchanged audit records when external target contents change. All five focused tests, the full 964-test suite, typecheck, lint, formatting, build, and installed-package smoke checks passed on AWS Crabbox. Independent Codex review is clean through P2. Patching documentation and the Unreleased changelog are updated.
