LSP: add configurable checker-backed inlay hints in full mode #1395

Closed as not planned

Description

Disposition — 2026-10-06

Closed as not planned and removed from the active child list of #1390.

Inlay hints are not part of the buildable standalone-editing milestone. Authoritative declaration types, call signatures and shared analysis are being built for core hover/completion/signature workflows first. The removed hint matrix adds configuration, placement and rendering maintenance without demonstrated demand. If a concrete user need emerges after the revised epic ships, propose a new bounded category of hints using that shared metadata.

The revised epic prioritizes checker-backed class navigation, semantic hover/completion/signature help, safe #private rename and editor-owned external formatting. This ticket is not implemented, superseded by a claimed equivalent feature, or required to complete that milestone. Its history remains available; any future proposal should identify a concrete user need and a bounded scope.
