The link definition was `// [RFC 8414]: https://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc8414)` — the trailing `)` is baked into the URL, so every [RFC 8414] reference resolved to the malformed `...rfc8414)` on pkg.go.dev. Sibling RFC links end cleanly.
