[Partner Center] Need to create a Company Edge Developer Account after accidental Individual enrollment #753
I accidentally enrolled in the Microsoft Edge Developer Program as an Individual developer account.
My current Partner Center account is already enrolled in the Microsoft Edge program, and the account type is shown as Individual.
I need to publish Edge extensions on behalf of my registered company, so I need a Company Developer Account.
I understand that the existing account type cannot be changed from Individual to Company after enrollment.
I have not published any extensions under the current Individual account yet.
I would like to keep using my existing Microsoft Account (MSA) as the sign-in / Primary Owner account if possible.
Could you please advise:
Can a new Company Edge Developer Account be created and associated with the same Microsoft Account?
If yes, what is the correct process to create the new Company account?
Should I keep the existing Individual developer account, or can it be closed after the Company account is successfully created?
You are correct that once a Microsoft Edge Developer account has been enrolled as an Individual account, the account type cannot be changed to a Company account.
To publish extensions on behalf of your organization, you will need to create a new Partner Center developer account and enroll it as a Company account, which will result in a new Seller ID being created. You can then complete the company verification process as described in the following documentation:
Once your new Company account has been successfully created and verified, you may choose whether to keep or stop using the existing Individual account, especially since no extensions have been published under it.
Can I create the new Company Partner Center developer account using the same Microsoft Account (MSA) that I currently use for the Individual account?
In other words, can the same Microsoft login be associated with both the existing Individual developer account and the new Company developer account, with separate Seller IDs?
Or do I need to create and use a different Microsoft Account for the new Company developer account?
Yes, you can use the same Microsoft Account (MSA) to create a new Company Partner Center developer account. The Company account will be associated with a separate Seller ID from your existing Individual account.
Please ensure that you select the Company account type during enrollment and complete the required company verification process. Once the Company account is created and verified, it will have its own Seller ID independent of your Individual account.
Let us know if you encounter any issues during the enrollment process, and we will be happy to assist further.
Note: If your existing MSA is already associated with a Partner Center account and the enrollment flow does not allow creating a new Company account, you may need to use a different Microsoft Account. In that case, please share a screenshot of the enrollment page/error message so we can investigate further.

Thank you for the clarification.
I have one follow-up question:
Can I create the new Company Partner Center developer account using the same Microsoft Account (MSA) that I currently use for the Individual account?
In other words, can the same Microsoft login be associated with both the existing Individual developer account and the new Company developer account, with separate Seller IDs?
Or do I need to create and use a different Microsoft Account for the new Company developer account?
Thank you.
