Complete matrix.mac migration to maximasrc

Finish migrating contrib/matrix.mac to maximasrc: matrix operations, the remaining predicates, and equation-display functions, with their tests and generated documentation.

Keep matrix.mac as a compatibility entry point for existing questions. Address the variable/function scope leaks and single-equation display failure exposed while preparing the migration.
