Jobmetry

The Smart Job Tracker

Jobmetry - Not Just a Job Tracker. The Smart Job Tracker.

Jobmetry is a private, offline-first smart job application tracker built as one standalone plain HTML file. Track job applications, interviews, follow-ups, offers, links, and notes in one private workspace.

There is no account, registration, cloud service, backend server, installation, build process, or network request. Your information stays in your browser on your device and remains under your control.

User Guide

For illustrated, step-by-step instructions, read the Jobmetry User Guide - Edition 1.0.

The 20-page guide explains:

  • First launch, local browser storage, and profile setup.
  • The top navigation, live summary strip, and filters.
  • Home, Board, List, Insights, Link Library, and Archive views.
  • Adding, editing, moving, archiving, restoring, and deleting jobs.
  • Selecting several jobs to change status, export, archive, or delete them together.
  • Searching and filtering by status, resume, applied date, URL, and Link Library visibility.
  • Reading the Momentum Score, conversion rates, application trends, and resume progression.
  • Managing important links and favorites.
  • JSON backup and restore, CSV export, and PDF reports.
  • Light, Dark, and System themes plus keyboard shortcuts.
  • How offline storage works and how to protect your data.

Recommended First Steps

  1. Open job-tracker.html in a normal browser window, not a private or incognito window.
  2. Enter your first name. Last name and Professional Focus are optional.
  3. Add your first job using Add Job or the N keyboard shortcut.
  4. Move jobs between stages using the Board, Edit Job form, or List bulk-status control.
  5. Export a JSON backup regularly using Menu → Export Backup (JSON).

Jobmetry stores information in the browser used to open the file. Clearing that browser's site data can remove locally stored information. Export a JSON backup before clearing browser data or moving to another device.

Main Features

  • Home dashboard with live job-search updates.
  • Board and detailed List views.
  • Wishlist, Applied, Follow-Up, Interview, Offer, Rejected, and No Response stages.
  • Search and applied-date filters.
  • Select, export, archive, or delete multiple matching jobs.
  • Archive with restore support.
  • Insights with filters and visual summaries.
  • Link Library for job sites, company pages, and important bookmarks.
  • Light, Dark, and System themes.
  • JSON backup and restore.
  • CSV and PDF exports.
  • Mobile-browser support.

Back Up Your Data

Jobmetry stores information locally in your browser. Clearing browser data may remove your jobs.

Use Menu → Export Backup (JSON) regularly. Import that JSON file later to restore your jobs, links, and profile.

Export Formats

  • JSON: Complete backup for restoring Jobmetry.
  • CSV: Spreadsheet-friendly job list. Salary values use a simple format such as 18-24 LPA.
  • PDF: Printable report based on the current or selected jobs.

Privacy

  • No account or login.
  • No cloud database.
  • No analytics or tracking.
  • No network requests.
  • No background data uploads.

Data from one browser or device does not automatically appear in another. Use a JSON backup when moving to a new browser or device.

Browser Support

Use a current version of Chrome, Edge, Firefox, or Safari. Jobmetry also supports current mobile browsers.

If the application does not open, extract the ZIP first and make sure browser storage is enabled.
