Kochi Tech Group is a not-for-profit community in Kochi, Kerala, that studies computing from first principles. We read primary sources (papers, specifications, source code) rather than summaries, work through the derivations and proofs, and measure before we make a claim.
We are just getting started. This repository holds our website, and it's the first thing we are building in the open.
- Systems programming: compilers, runtimes, operating systems and the hardware underneath
- Enterprise computing: distributed systems, data platforms and software that runs businesses
- Machine learning: models that learn from data, and the engineering to train and serve them
- Statistics: inference, uncertainty and knowing what the data actually says
- Deep learning: neural networks, from the mathematics to the GPU kernels
- Mathematics: the foundations, meaning linear algebra, probability, logic and proof
- Philosophy: mind, meaning and knowledge, and what computing tells us about them
The first talks, reading groups and pieces of writing are being planned now. Write to hello@kochitechgroup.dev if you would like to:
- hear when the first sessions are announced
- give a talk, or suggest a paper or book to read together
- offer a venue in Kochi
- help organise
You don't need to be an expert. Being curious and willing to read closely is enough.
