Daniel Tistoj

Backend Developer from Guatemala, focused on building reliable APIs, scalable services, and practical software solutions.

I mainly work with Java, Spring Boot, TypeScript, Node.js, and relational databases.
I enjoy designing backend systems with clear contracts, consistent error handling, and maintainable architecture.

My work is usually centered around turning business requirements into stable APIs, improving internal processes through automation, and reducing repeated code by creating reusable tools and shared patterns.

What I Do

  • Build REST APIs and backend services
  • Design microservice-based architectures
  • Work with relational and NoSQL databases
  • Create reusable libraries and internal tools
  • Improve consistency across backend projects
  • Automate repetitive business and development workflows

Tech Stack

Backend: Java, Spring Boot, Node.js, TypeScript, Express, NestJS
Databases: PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB
Tools: Docker, Git, GitHub, Postman
Other: Prisma, Supabase, Stripe, React

Current Focus

  • Spring Boot backend development
  • API design and standardization
  • Microservices and service communication
  • Shared libraries for backend teams
  • Clean, maintainable, production-ready code

Featured Project

A reusable Spring Boot library for REST APIs.

It centralizes common backend patterns such as standardized responses, pagination, global error handling, search utilities, rate limiting, security handlers, and username validation.

The goal is simple: avoid repeating the same infrastructure code across multiple Spring Boot projects and keep APIs more consistent.
