JUnit 6's junit-platform-launcher is compiled for Java 17+ and can't run on JDK 8, which the CI matrix still tests as an LTS target - 5.14.4 is the latest release on the 5.x line that still supports Java 8. Co-Authored-By: Claude Sonnet 5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
