During my 12-month co-op on the Samsung Health data platform, I worked with Scala, Apache Spark, Airflow and Iceberg.
My work included:
- Implementing and testing production Spark transformations, including a daily pipeline supporting one of the team’s largest conformed datasets
- Creating production Airflow DAGs, supporting backfills and designing jobs to behave safely during reruns
- Designing and deploying a GDPR analytics system consisting of two reporting tables, two Spark pipelines and two Airflow DAGs
- Integrating data from DynamoDB and internal lakehouse tables
- Building the accompanying Tableau reporting and presenting the system to my team and senior engineers
- Contributing to dependency management, development-environment tooling and local debugging workflows
I also hold the AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate certification.
A free, no-login collection of browser-based photo utilities originally created for family members managing small social media accounts. It supports watermarking, collages, resizing, conversion and other common editing workflows while keeping image processing on the user’s device.
A self-hosted home security platform that I operate on my home network. It integrates ONVIF cameras with WebRTC streaming, local motion recordings, a FastAPI backend and secure remote access through Cloudflare.
A live meal-planning and recipe product inspired by my family’s recipe binders and weekly planning process. The application uses Django and PostgreSQL and has approximately 30 registered users.
I originally designed and provisioned its AWS infrastructure with Terraform using ECS/Fargate, RDS, S3, CloudFront and WAF. I later migrated it to a virtual private server to simplify operations and reduce costs.
An independent consulting practice through which I am currently delivering a paid website redesign and implementation engagement for a British Columbia client. My responsibilities include stakeholder discovery, design reviews, requirements management and implementation planning.
