[FEATURE]: Add Silo home server support via Jellyfin-compatible API #638

Description

@TheRedMittens

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.

ARVIO currently supports Plex, Emby, and Jellyfin as Home Server sources, but I have been unable to connect a Silo server through the existing Jellyfin integration.

Silo provides a Jellyfin-compatible API intended to allow Jellyfin clients to connect to Silo servers. However, attempting to add my Silo server to ARVIO as a Jellyfin server currently fails.

My use case is a shared Silo server that I do not own or administer. I have a regular user account with access to the server's media libraries.

The exact error shown by ARVIO when attempting the connection will be added once I am able to reproduce it again.

Target Platform(s)

  • Android TV / Google TV / Fire TV
  • Android Mobile / Tablet
  • ARVIO Web (iOS / iPadOS / Desktop Browser)

Feature Category

  • Player & Playback (ExoPlayer, gestures, PIP, audio passthrough, speed controls, codecs)
  • Subtitles & Audio (AI subtitle tools, styling, sync adjustments, track selector)
  • IPTV / Live TV (EPG guide improvements, channel management, Xtream / M3U)
  • Integrations & Sources (Jellyfin, Emby, Plex, Telegram, Addons, Debrid)
  • Catalogs & Metadata (TMDB, Trakt lists, MDBList, filter & sorting options)
  • Profiles & Cloud Sync (Multi-user, Trakt scrobbling, profile PINs, cloud backup)
  • UI / UX & Customization (Homescreen rows, themes, remote D-Pad navigation)

Describe the solution you'd like

Ideally, ARVIO should support connecting to Silo servers using the same Home Server functionality currently available for Jellyfin.

Since Silo exposes a Jellyfin-compatible API, this may only require compatibility changes to ARVIO's existing Jellyfin integration rather than implementing an entirely separate server type.

The desired workflow would be:

  1. Add a Silo server URL in ARVIO.
  2. Authenticate using normal Silo user credentials.
  3. Access the libraries granted to that user.
  4. Have matching Silo content appear as Home Server sources on ARVIO's normal TMDB detail pages, in the same way Jellyfin, Emby, and Plex sources currently do.

Importantly, this should work for regular/shared user accounts and should not require Silo server administrator access.

Describe alternatives you've considered

I have attempted to connect the Silo server through ARVIO's existing Jellyfin Home Server integration, but the connection failed.

  • I confirm this request adheres to ARVIO's source policy (i.e., it does not request hosting copyrighted media, bundling pre-loaded pirated streams, or distributing illegal playlists).
