Android

  • Downloads to a file path no longer stop after the first 8 KB segment. 0.24.10 shipped a buffered drain without the matching okio sink write, so any file larger than one segment failed with "Download interrupted." (#474, reported in #488)
  • Download progress is calculated with float division, so the ratio no longer stays at 0 until completion (#482)

JavaScript

  • progress / uploadProgress byte counts are normalised to numbers where the native event enters JS. Android and iOS emitted strings while Windows emitted int64 and null, so the documented number contract was wrong on every platform. -1 now uniformly means "unknown length". This also fixes XMLHttpRequest firing the upload load event early, where a string comparison made "9" >= "10" true (reported in #484)
  • Removed the unused glob dependency (#480)

CSS animation and transition callbacks on native

onCSSAnimationStart, onCSSAnimationEnd, onCSSAnimationIteration, onCSSAnimationCancel, onCSSTransitionRun, onCSSTransitionStart, onCSSTransitionEnd and onCSSTransitionCancel now fire on iOS and Android.

contrastColor utility

New contrastColor worklet, a port of CSS contrast-color(). It returns 'white' or 'black', whichever has the higher WCAG contrast ratio against the given color. It works inside useAnimatedStyle and other worklets as well as on the JS thread. See the docs.

Experimental: platform-driven CSS transitions on Android

opacity CSS transitions can now run on the Android platform with ObjectAnimator, off the animation loop. This is the Android counterpart of iOS Core Animation transitions.

The feature is off by default. Enable it with the ANDROID_CSS_PLATFORM_TRANSITIONS feature flag.
