wsl-vscode.md (last reviewed 2021):
- Recommend WSL extension directly; mention Remote Development pack as optional alternative
- Remove outdated VS Code 1.35 minimum version requirement callout
- Replace deprecated Shan.code-settings-sync community extension with VS Code built-in Settings Sync
- Remove 'new' from Windows Terminal (pre-installed on Windows 11); fix profile.json -> settings.json
- Remove deprecated RTVS (R Tools for Visual Studio) link

install-on-server.md (last reviewed 2022):
- Expand Server 2022/2025 section heading; add Server 2025 link and note Server Core 2025 support
- Add wsl --update as the modern kernel update method for Server 2022+; clarify MSI is for Server 2019

Update stale WSL + VS Code and Windows Server install pages
- Remove Ubuntu 16.04 (EOL Apr 2021) and Ubuntu 18.04 (EOL Apr 2023)
from the direct download links section
- Fix SUSE entries incorrectly nested under OracleLinux
- Update curl example: was referencing Ubuntu 22.04 URL with Ubuntu 20.04
filename; now references Ubuntu 24.04 LTS consistently

…and typo in wsl-config

- Remove 'recently added' language for systemd support (added in 2022,
now standard) and drop link to the outdated Store preview blog post
- Remove version 0.67.6+ requirement mention (all current WSL versions support it)
- Change 'Insider Build 17713' to 'Windows Build 17713' — this shipped
in 2018 and is no longer an Insider-only build
- Fix comment in .wslconfig example: maxCrashDumpCount default was
listed as 5 but the reference table correctly states 10
- Fix typo: 'custum' -> 'custom' in kernelModules comment

- Fix 'OracleLinux:' -> 'Oracle Linux:' for consistency with rest of doc
- Clarify .appx vs .AppxBundle: update surrounding text to mention both
formats since Ubuntu 24.04 uses .AppxBundle while older distros use .appx

Fix EOL distros, SUSE nesting, and curl example in install-manual
- Systemd paragraph: restore compatibility context — note that systemd
requires a Store WSL update; older inbox builds don't support it.
Also add guidance for users where 'wsl --version' isn't recognized.
- Interop build qualifier: 17713 was Insider-only; the correct public
release build for Windows 10 1809 is 17763. Updated accordingly.

Fix stale systemd note, Insider Build qualifier, crash dump default, and typo in wsl-config
…erences

* Remove obsolete Win10 1903 section and legacy WSL uninstall; fix wsl --version

- Remove 'I'm on Windows 10 version 1903' section — Win10 1903 reached
EOL December 2020; the backport KB is no longer relevant
- Remove 'Uninstall legacy version of WSL' section — targeted Windows 10
pre-Creators Update (Oct 2017, Build 16299), which is years past EOL
- Fix wsl.exe -v -> wsl --version in bug report template for consistency
  with current WSL documentation

Co-authored-by: Copilot <223556219+Copilot@users.noreply.github.com>

* Address Copilot review feedback: wsl --version fallback, lsb_release fix, remove lxrun

- Add wsl.exe --status fallback for inbox WSL users in bug report template
  (wsl --version requires Store WSL)
- Fix 'run lsb_release -r' → 'lsb_release -r' (spurious 'run' prefix)
- Replace lxrun /setdefaultuser with wsl -u root in older-versions section
- Replace lxrun /uninstall /full with wsl --unregister in system restore section

* Remove outdated Build 20262+ requirement; update VS Code extension recommendation

- Remove 'must be running Build 20262+' note — all supported Windows 10/11
versions exceed this 2020 Insider build requirement; the note adds noise
without value. Retained the link to the WSL installation page as a note
for users wanting a different distro or manual steps.
- Update VS Code recommendation: point to the standalone WSL extension
(ms-vscode-remote.remote-wsl) instead of the full Remote Development
extension pack, consistent with current VS Code docs and PR #2517.

* Address Copilot review: fix typo, add correct wsl --install prerequisite

- Fix 'set-by-step' typo in front-matter description
- Add correct Windows prerequisite for wsl --install:
version 2004 (Build 19041+) or Windows 11 — replacing the removed
Build 20262+ note which cited an Insider-only build number

…tion. (#2429)

Updated the networking documentation to use the correct hostname flags and commands:

- Replaced `hostname -i` with `hostname -I`
- Updated `hostname --ip-addresses` to `hostname --all-ip-addresses`
- Ensured command explanations align with actual Linux behavior

These changes improve accuracy and prevent confusion for users querying IP addresses in WSL.
