Add a chat object template for chats, subchannels and threads on messaging services. This complements chat-message by representing the container and its metadata independently of individual messages.

The template requires only the source-platform id and supports optional service-instance details and container metadata. All attributes default to to_ids: false; locally scoped identifiers and descriptive fields disable correlation, while direct container URLs retain correlation. Observation times use native object first_seen and last_seen.

  • Add objects/chat/definition.json at version 1, using the requested description and submitted UUID.
  • Add the template to the README object index.

Validation: the new definition passes the repository JSON schema and jq -S -j formatting check. Required-field references, UUIDv4 syntax, field names and default values were checked; only the top-level description differs from the uploaded definition. No existing chat template or open chat PR was found.

Full ./validate_all.sh was not run locally because the workspace proxy prevented cloning the repository. GitHub Actions will run the full validation suite, including UUID uniqueness.
