Backend engineer in Amsterdam with six years' experience building backend systems in Python (Django, FastAPI) and Node.js with TypeScript.
Most of my work lives in private repositories, so here is a short summary of what I've built:
- Billing and metering platforms at InWarmte (2025 – now): backend for a Dutch district-heating company that issues around 25,000 invoices a month. A generic import framework that runs large CSV imports as parallel Cloud Tasks, a pipeline that loads readings from about 39,000 heat and water meters into BigQuery and InfluxDB, and separate development, test and production environments.
- The Fleks shift-planning platform (2020 – 2025): from building features to leading the backend (Django, PostgreSQL), including a rebuild of the heaviest endpoints in Node.js and TypeScript that cut their response times by more than 95%.
Stack: Python, FastAPI, Django, Node.js, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, BigQuery, Redis, Celery, Docker, Google Cloud, GitLab CI/CD, React.
