Joshua González

I'm a staff software engineer based in Yucatán, Mexico. Most of my work has been around mobile and web products, with a strong focus on Flutter and cross-platform development. I also teach software engineering at university.

I've been working in software since 2015. Along the way I've led development work, supported SDK integrations, mentored developers, and created learning material for software engineering students.

Formulift ↗
A web app for creating personalized 12-week training plans and Excel-compatible spreadsheets. It runs entirely in the browser, without accounts or server-side storage.

A project I'm building to explore reliable, provider-neutral orchestration for AI-assisted software development.

A Flutter app for managing reptile care and feeder colonies, designed to keep working offline.

Small tools and workflows that help me manage assessment, course delivery, attendance, and student feedback.

How I like to work

I care more about software being understandable and reliable than about using the newest tool. I tend to favor clear contracts, replaceable dependencies, and workflows that make failures easier to diagnose.

I use local-first patterns when they make a product faster, more private, or more resilient—not as a rule for every project. Teaching also influences the way I work: if I cannot explain a decision clearly, it usually needs another pass.
