Welcome to CanvasFlow v2. This app lets you make posters, social media graphics, flyers, and other designs right in your web browser. You do not need to install anything complicated. You do not need to learn code. If you can click a button, you can use this app.
This guide walks you through everything step by step. Follow it from top to bottom, and you will have the app running on your Windows computer in under five minutes.
CanvasFlow v2 runs on any modern Windows computer. Here is what you should have:
- Windows 10 or Windows 11
- A screen resolution of at least 1280 x 720 (most screens have this)
- A stable internet connection for the first download
- At least 500 MB of free space on your hard drive
- Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, or Firefox (any recent version works)
Your computer does not need to be expensive or new. If it can run a web browser, it can run CanvasFlow.
CanvasFlow v2 is a design tool. You use it to combine shapes, text, and images into a single picture. Then you save that picture as a PNG file. PNG files work everywhere. You can put them on Instagram, print them, or attach them to emails.
Here are some things you can create:
- Birthday invitations
- Product photos with text overlays
- YouTube thumbnails
- Business cards
- Simple logos
- Quote graphics for social media
The app runs entirely on your computer. Your images and text never leave your machine. This means your work stays private.
Follow these exact steps. Do not skip any step.

This opens a GitHub page. GitHub is a website that hosts software. Do not worry about the technical layout. You only need one button on that page.
On the page you see two things. There is a list of files, and there is a green button that says "Code". Find the green button. It is near the top right side of the page.
Click the green "Code" button. A small window will appear.
In the small window, look for the option that says "Download ZIP". Click it. Your browser will start downloading a file called canvasflow-design-app-v2.zip.
The download might take a minute. Wait until it finishes. You will see the file in your "Downloads" folder.
Go to your "Downloads" folder. You will find a file named canvasflow-design-app-v2.zip. Double-click it. This opens the ZIP file like a folder. You will see another folder inside it.
You need to extract the contents. This means moving the files out of the ZIP into a normal folder.
Right-click the ZIP file, and choose "Extract All...". Windows will ask you where to put the files. Pick any location you like, such as your Desktop. Then click "Extract".
You will now have a folder called canvasflow-design-app-v2.
Double-click the new canvasflow-design-app-v2 folder. Inside, you will see several files. One of them has a blue icon and a file type that says "Chrome HTML Document". The name is index.html.
Double-click index.html. Your default web browser will open. You will see the CanvasFlow design screen. The app is now running.
To open the app again later, you do not need to go through the folder again. While CanvasFlow is open in your browser, press Ctrl + D to bookmark it. Next time you want to design, just click the bookmark.
When the app first loads, you are on a blank canvas. That is normal. You are ready to start.
If your browser asks you to install the app, click "Install" or "Add to Desktop." This creates a shortcut so you can open CanvasFlow like a regular program. You can skip this step, but it makes future use easier.
Here is a quick tour of the main parts of the screen.
This has your main tools. You will see:
- Select β Use this to click and move objects on your canvas.
- Text β Adds a text box where you can type words.
- Shape β Adds circles, squares, triangles, and other shapes.
- Image β Lets you upload a picture from your computer.
- Template β Opens a gallery of pre-made designs.
This is your drawing area. Everything you add appears here. You can drag things around and resize them.
When you click on an object, this panel changes. You can change colors, font size, line thickness, and other settings here.
At the top you see buttons like:
- New β Clears the canvas and starts a fresh design.
- Download PNG β Saves your current design as an image file.
- Save Project β Saves your work so you can edit it later.
Let us make your first graphic in two minutes.
- Click the "Templates" button in the left toolbar.
- Choose any template you like. It fills the canvas.
- Click the text on the template and type your own words.
- Click the "Download PNG" button at the top.
- Check your "Downloads" folder. Your design is there.
That is it. You have made a graphic.
You have two ways to save.
Export as PNG: This saves the final picture. You can share it or print it. Use the "Download PNG" button.
Save Project: This saves the file so you can open it and edit it later. Use "Save Project." The app will download a file with a .cfv2 extension. To open it later, drag that file into the CanvasFlow window.
We recommend exporting as PNG to keep your work. The project file is for editing only.
Most problems have simple fixes. Try these in order.
Make sure you are opening the extracted folder, not the ZIP file. Double-check that you extracted the files correctly. The file you are looking for is named index.html. If you see a file named index.html, double-click it.
Close your browser and reopen it. Then press F5 while the CanvasFlow page is open. This refreshes the page.
This can happen if your design is too large. Try making your canvas smaller. Look for a setting that says "Canvas Size" and reduce it to something like 1080 x 1080. Then try the button again.
Make sure you are using a common file type. JPG and PNG work best. If your image is very large (over 20 MB), resize it first using any free online tool.
This is normal at low zoom levels. Increase the canvas size before exporting. A canvas of 1920 x 1080 is good for most use cases.
Do I need to pay for this app?
No. It is free.
Will this app work offline?
Yes. After you download and extract the files, the app runs entirely in your browser. You do not need the internet to use it.
Is my work private?
Yes. Everything stays on your computer. The app does not upload anything.
Can I use my own fonts?
In most cases, the app uses standard system fonts. For custom fonts, upload a font file using the "Font" option in the properties panel. The app supports common font files like TTF and OTF.
Can I edit a PNG I already made?
You cannot open a PNG directly. But you can open the project file (.cfv2) if you saved one.
Before you start, make sure you have:
- Downloaded the ZIP file from the green button
- Extracted the files to a folder
- Opened
index.htmlin your browser - Bookmarked the page or installed the app
If you have done all four, you are ready to design.
For the app to run without lag, your computer should have:
- 4 GB of RAM or
