Will use this to test Qt6 builds in a software-layer PR.

Turned out that the weird error for some Arm builds was probably not an OOM issue, so changed the divide_by_factor to 2 instead of 3. That should probably be enough to prevent OOM issues.

Hmm, shouldn't you make sure that runtest ends with --gtest_filter="..." before doing this?

Done in 593247f. Not tested yet, no nodes available at the moment.

Tested with the default easyconfig:

== testing...
== Running pre-test hook...
== No IPv6 functionality on this system, disabling all IPv6 tests.
  >> running shell command:
        ./test/arestest --gtest_filter="-*.Live*:*ipv6*"
...
   * [SUCCESS] c-ares/1.34.6-GCCcore-15.2.0

With an easyconfig without test_cmd and runtests:

== testing...
== Running pre-test hook...
== ... (took < 1 sec)
== installing...
...
   * [SUCCESS] c-ares/1.34.6-GCCcore-15.2.0

So, it still skips the test step, as expected.

Hmm, found an issue for some other cases. Overlooked that for negative patterns (to exclude tests) there also has to be a minus at the beginning of the regex. But you can also have positive patterns, see https://stackoverflow.com/questions/14018434/how-to-specify-multiple-exclusion-filters-in-gtest-filter. Finding out what we currently have and how to adjust that is going to be somewhat tricky...

Okay, asked an AI friend for some help with the regex, the version in a877a27 works. Tested with:

  • runtest = '--gtest_color=yes' -> ./test/arestest --gtest_color=yes --gtest_filter="-*ipv6*"
  • runtest not defined -> ./test/arestest --gtest_filter="-*ipv6*"
  • runtest = '*.Live*' (positive filter!) -> ./test/arestest --gtest_filter="*.Live*-*ipv6*"
  • runtest = '-*.Live*' (standard easyconfig) -> ./test/arestest --gtest_filter="-*.Live*:*ipv6*"

Installation succeeded for all cases.
