Submitted via czdev publish. The .deb is hosted on the contributor's buffer release; CI verifies the sha256 and, on merge, promotes it into the official apt-pool release.

This resubmits #164, which was closed in the store reset. Tested on a Cardputer Zero with the stock image and the Cap LoRa-1262. The video shows MeshTerm 0.11.0 running on the device.

  • The .deb in this PR installs cleanly with dpkg -i on the stock image. MeshTerm shows in the launcher with its icon and name. It starts from there and draws for the 320×170 display.
  • A short Esc goes back one screen. Holding Esc quits cleanly, inside the launcher's 3-second window, and the launcher comes back.
  • Hardware: MeshTerm drives the Cap LoRa-1262 directly (SPI, GPIO, I2C, and the GNSS serial port). It can also use a MeshCore companion over USB or Bluetooth.
  • Network: map tiles from OpenFreeMap, and a TCP companion only if the user adds one. Nothing else.
  • No background service, nothing runs as root, and every file is in the package's own paths.
  • Data stays on the device, in ~/.meshterm: a database of what the radio heard, and the user's preferences.
  • Source: https://github.com/jpmartineau/MeshTerm (Apache-2.0). The package bundles its Python libraries and the Terminus font (OFL). Their licences are in /usr/share/doc/meshterm.

Thanks for your contribution to CardputerZero apps!

The video looks good, but I cannot see the launching and exiting process. Please add or update the video containing that. Thanks!

Here is a longer video that shows that startup sequence and sending and receiving a message on the mesh, and then quitting by holding the ESC button for 3 seconds like it is required to.

Note that video is of a newer version locally installed (that's why there is a "dev 796412" version id on the icon!

I saw that the app is now available on the app store, Thank you! I believe that it will be much appreciated by the people that have the LoRa cap when the Cardputer Zero ships! I wish you success with the launch!

Cheers,
JP

Great! Thanks!

BTW I noticed that you are using an old version of CardputerZero OS. Please update it through M5 Imager:
