Full Stack Developer | Linux Systems Administrator | Open Source Enthusiast
Building scalable web applications, automation tools, and reliable infrastructure solutions.
I'm a full stack developer and Linux sysadmin from Chile. I like owning the whole path: the code, the server it runs on, and the network in between.
- Web development: backends in Python and PHP (Flask, Laravel) and frontends in React and Vue, with code that stays maintainable after launch.
- Linux systems: I deploy, harden and keep Debian and Red Hat servers running, from a single VPS up to a full homelab.
- Automation: Bash and Python scripts for backups, deploys and the other chores that should never be done by hand.
- Open source: I build on community tools every day and publish what I make.
- astronautmarkus.dev: my personal site and blog, written from scratch in Flask and self-hosted on Debian 13 behind Caddy. It has a bilingual blog, retro System 7 and Mac OS X themes, and the live cards below.
- Homelab: a small networking rack, self-hosted services and an Asterisk PBX with IP phones on a Raspberry Pi. I write up each part on the blog.
- BeerCat: my IT services company in Chile. We do technical support, custom software, networking and cloud migrations.
These cards are generated by my site from its own data and refresh every hour.

"This is the Unix philosophy: Write programs that do one thing and do it well. Write programs to work together. Write programs to handle text streams, because that is a universal interface." — Doug McIlroy
