Dear all,
I encountered an issue with the PRIDE web interface when creating a new Globus submission request.
I had logged into PRIDE approximately 30 minutes earlier while checking a previous submission. When I later returned to the submission page (still opened in the meantime, Vivaldi, Kubuntu), I still appeared to be logged in and was able to browse both my private and public submissions normally.
However, when I tried to create a new submission request, the request appeared to be submitted but no confirmation info was shown, no email was sent and no Globus access for the new submission was created.
At that point, trying to access the PRIDE Submissions collection in Globus resulted in:
PermissionDeniedNo effective ACL rules on the endpoint PRIDE Submissions (c9a2b32e-d3bc-4afe-a73b-bb59390ab812)I then logged out of PRIDE completely and logged in again. After the re-authentication, I repeated the new submission request and it worked normally: the request was created, confirmation was shown on the page and the expected email was sent.
This therefore looks like a possible authentication/session-expiration issue in the PRIDE web application. The session still appeared valid and allowed me to browse private submissions, but the operation for creating a new submission request apparently failed, without showing an error or asking me to authenticate again.
It may be useful to check whether the authentication token/session used for creating new submissions can expire independently while the UI still considers the user logged in, and whether such a failure could be surfaced to the user instead of failing silently.
Approximate date/time of the issue: 8 September 2026, around 05:00 CEST.
Thank you,
David
