The description should be snappier. Otherwise the tone is quite friendly which I like, but I'd feel happier if someone other than me looked over the text.

A better environment for making things

Rather than

Let’s get together to try to make things and/or make things that make things better for everyone! It's a co-operative event taking place over one day where we all get excited about what everyone is building, with a discussion at the beginning and demos at the end.
