As far as I can tell every time the app is closed and reopened the home tab/view gets back to the top/latest updated article. If I have a backlog of articles I didn't browse yet I'll scroll down, favorite some...but if I close the app or even change tab/view ( from Home to Search, etc...) when I get back to Home the view is back at the top.

Maybe make it optional, via settings, if user want to keep the view when he/she leave the Home view, either within the app ( other views ) or close the app/shutdown the phone, if the keep position is selected whenever we go back, the tile of last article/abstract viewed is displayed, making it easier to reach the bottom of the pile.
Edit: Or I could just swipe left on all the articles I'm not interested about and clean up the feed as it is that way...
