placeholderScale with BoxFit.cover doesn't work

I have an image that i am using BoxFit.cover for. The problem is that it makes the spinner massive. I tried to use placeholderScale to shrink but it doesn't do anything.

Can you please share an image?
Using the small variant should collapse the height. Unless the image is a square or fixed height. In that case, you should use the regular version instead and the scale will work.

Inversely, the higher the scale number, the smaller the spinner.
